What art materials do I need to have to teach these lessons? Your school most likely already has many of these materials. You'll need class sets of materials such as markers, crayons, watercolor sets, paint brushes, chalk pastels, oil pastels. Additionally, specific sizes of paper are needed for lessons. These are detailed in the lesson packing lists and curriculum materials spreadsheet (available in your portal).
How will the Artsy Elementary curriculum work at my school? Artsy Elementary provides online access to all lessons and resources (instructional videos, presentation slides for lessons, instructor guides, etc.). Your school uses Artsy Curriculum as part of their school-wide art program. The way your program runs (communication with volunteers and scheduling) is decided by your school/parent group. When you partner with Artsy Elementary, your school and volunteers gain access to a custom portal as well as get access to any support needed to plan how to run your program. Your school provides volunteers and materials to teach the Artsy Elementary curriculum.
How do I structure a program to run this curriculum? Your group will make your own program structure to run these art lessons. Ideally, you'll have an art program Chair who will communicate with and organize volunteers. Typically, there are online sign-ups created for each classroom and monitored to make sure all classes are getting lessons. Your online portal has editable volunteer orientation slides as well as other resources to help you decide how to organize your program.
